We’re recruiting – Assistant Chef

We’re looking for an Assistant Chef to work alongside our Catering Manager in our busy Hostel Kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for our 42 residents whilst offering training opportunities and life skills sessions.
Job Title: Assistant Chef
Salary: £27,000 – £28,000 – pro rata
Location: Worcester City, Worcestershire.
Key Result Areas
- Improvement of employment opportunities, motivation and work readiness.
- Improvement in the self-esteem and self-confidence of people who use the project.
- A more tolerant local community so single homeless will feel less stigmatized.
Key tasks are
- Provide daily meals for residents, catering to dietary requirements where applicable.
- Plan weekly menus that utilise seasonal and budget friendly ingredients.
- Maintain an organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Manage a Hostel kitchen, including sourcing and ordering of supplies and the creation of nutritional and appetising menus, for up to 50 people per day.
- Working alongside the Chef and Catering Manager to provide training sessions to residents as part of individual support plans.
- Inspire people and act as role model.
