BIO:
I have worked extensively in different homeless settings in the past 20years, including with adolescents and adult in residential, as well as within the community providing qualitative interventions with positive service outcomes. My main interest centres around identifying and meeting service users at their points of need and being a compassionate and friendly individual to all, irrespective of age, sexual orientation, or creed.  I am a strong believer in therapeutic crisis intervention and trauma informed practice.

MY ROLE AT ST PAUL’S HOSTEL:
I was fortunate to become a member of the St. Paul’s community in 2022 and have never looked back since then. I have so far fully enjoyed my role here and have been fully integrated as part of a functional team in the delivery of services to vulnerable individual in supporting them in unlocking their potentials and in opening up new opportunities for them through the provision of practical support, information and advice. As a part the team, I ensure the effective delivery of an integrated and holistic service that allows residents to access ancillary services within the community through befriending, relationship building and in creating a psychologically informed environment which ensures dignity, self-esteem of residents, enabling them to maintain stability and improvement in their quality of life.  I strive to empower residents towards their independence and in the reduction in their risk behaviours and provide necessary support and assistance to residents in making their benefit claims, accessing their Universal credit journals, uploading fit notes, personal independence payment (PIP) claims etc.

My role also involves ensuring that operational policies, procedures, and statutory regulations are adhered to, as well as conflict resolution and carrying out risk and needs assessments in a timely manner in enabling individuals who access the service to identify their own personal goals and objectives. I ensure that I maintain good communication within the team by maintaining and keeping a full and accurate record of work, and in promoting and advocating the rights and needs of residents.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT WORKING AT ST. PAULS HOSTEL:
I have enjoyed and valued the ethos of St. Paul’s Hostel especially in regards to promoting and advocating the rights and needs of residents and the efforts that has been put in place in fostering equality, diversity and rights of residents in ensuring that they are respected and valued members of society.
