Welcome to our new chair
Philip writes “Rewind to December 2014 and I vividly remember huddled in a room with the Trustees and the then CEO of St Paul’s Hostel chatting about our residents, funding, and the normal challenges of any charity. My first Trustees meeting. Fast forward to 2023 and I would probably have said back then I didn’t expect to have still been a Trustee and certainly not Chair of Trustees.
St Paul’s Hostel though in those years has seen a significant transformation and I have been proud to be part of that journey working with a great team. St Paul’s has a feel about it in a positive way, people want to be there, and people want to help and be helped. Yes, there are challenges as we are working with very vulnerable people.
We have exciting plans as we move into 2023. Key priorities for me are having a fit for purpose Hostel, Project X, supporting ‘entrenched’ homeless, ensuring we have happy staff and residents and sustainable funding for the future.
On that last point we are always seeking support from businesses especially around fundraising and donations in kind. My door is always open to chat through this or anything else.”
