Worcestershire County Council Finance Team wanted to raise awareness in the team...

Michael Hudson, Chief Finance Officer said:

“Worcestershire County Council Finance Team wanted to raise awareness in the team and see what we could do to support local services and providers. We decided we’d like to pick a service each year and do what we could to engage and help.

For 2020 we choose rough sleeping and St Paul’s hostel due to growing need and the excellent work in the local area supporting some of the most vulnerable in our society, and we wanted to help be part of that. Sadly COVID has restricted our ability to volunteer and we were due to be part of the Big Sleep Out, but we will be doing more when the restrictions are fully lifted and we will continue to focus on what we can do to help rough sleepers across the County in 2021.

However, we did recognise we could raise money now to support and make a difference, and through quiz nights and donations instead of Christmas cards we are delighted to have raised £1,200 for St Paul’s Hostel.

Keep up the brilliant work and stay safe everyone”
