Rowe Carpets Donate to St Paul’s

Rowe Carpets has donated 50sq metres of carpet to previous St Paul’s Hostel resident, Shaun, who moved from the hostel in Worcester city centre to his new flat earlier this year.

Shaun came to St Paul’s last summer after spending a short period of time sofa-surfing with friends and sleeping rough for three nights. The hostel, whose mission is to ‘help people live through homelessness so they have a place where they belong’, provided a safe place for Shaun to stay while giving him time to make plans for his future.

Felicity James, Community and Engagement Manager at St Paul’s said, “Shaun’s story is typical. It reminds us how important it is to have homeless services that not only put a roof over someone’s head, but also protect them and allow time to recover and reconnect.”

St Paul’s Hostel assisted Shaun as he moved into his new home, reaching out to businesses in the local community for further support.

After hearing Shaun’s story, Rowe Carpets donated their Kingsmead carpet, as well as the underlay, totalling a retail value of £927.

“We were more than happy to help Shaun make his new house, a home. Kingsmead is a quality carpet and is great for a range of living spaces. So, we thought it would be a perfect match for Shaun. It’s always a delight to help the local community where we can.”

Philippa Rowe, from Rowe Carpets said, “We were more than happy to help Shaun make his new house, a home. Kingsmead is a quality carpet and is great for a range of living spaces. So, we thought it would be a perfect match for Shaun. It’s always a delight to help the local community where we can.”

The carpet was laid throughout Shaun’s flat, transforming the living space into a comfortable, homely environment.

Felicity James said, “We are grateful for Rowe carpets for donating and delivering new carpets. The generosity shows we have a community who want to help.”

With over 80 years of experience in the supply and laying of all types of carpets and flooring, Rowe Carpets have been the go-to supplier for generations of many families in Kidderminster and beyond, and continue to be avid members of the local community.

Jonathan Sutton, Chief Executive of St Paul’s Hostel, said, “We were delighted to hear that Rowe Carpets wanted to donate carpet to Shaun. It’s so important to us that those who come to St Paul’s Hostel find a place they can call home and really make it their own, and the Rowe Carpets team helped us do just that. The team were so friendly and we are so grateful for their generosity – it makes such a difference.”
