Fundraising Manager – St Paul’s Hostel, Worcester

About St Paul’s

Founded in 1977 by the Worcester Council of Churches, St Paul’s Hostel exists to make homelessness in Worcestershire temporary, by design.

We provide accommodation and intensive, trauma-informed support for 46 adults, alongside resettlement flats and housing-led services for people with the most complex needs.

Each year, St Paul’s receives over 300 referrals, with more than 65% from Worcester City Council and a further 15% from services operating in the city centre. Of those referred: • 100% are already homeless. • 50% are rough sleeping at the point of referral. • Over 90% have a local connection to Worcester.

Nearly all of our residents have overlapping challenges: substance use, mental health needs, and trauma. Without sustained, specialist support, people become trapped in a cycle of rough sleeping, crisis interventions, and repeat homelessness.

St Paul’s strategic position aligns with the National Homelessness Strategy — preventing the reoccurrence of homelessness. Our role is to interrupt cycles of repeat homelessness and enable long-term stability.
