We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager / Company Secretary to oversee all financial and governance matters on a part-time basis. This is a key leadership role, providing financial scrutiny, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making to help maximise the charity’s impact.

Location: Worcester (Hybrid Options Available)

Hours: 15 hours per week Salary: £50,000

FTE Reports to: CEO / Board of Trustees

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager / Company Secretary to oversee all financial and governance matters on a part-time basis.

This is a key leadership role, providing financial scrutiny, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making to help maximise the charity’s impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare monthly management accounts with clear, actionable insights for senior leadership

· Oversee annual statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors

· Lead budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and expenditure control

· Monitor and report on project expenditure

· Ensure compliance with charity regulations, company law, and statutory reporting

· Manage banking relationships, insurance, and financial risk

· Prepare financial papers including income projections and risk analysis

· Attend quarterly finance scrutiny and board meetings to support strategic decisions

· Support annual housing benefit calculations and funding compliance

· Review major supplier contracts to ensure value for money

· Oversee sales ledger and management of bad debts

· Assist with grant applications and monitor grant income

· Fulfil Company Secretary duties and support governance and Board reporting

· Provide holiday cover for the Finance Accountant

 

About You

· Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

· Strong experience in financial management, ideally within the charity sector

· Knowledge of charity accounting standards and statutory requirements

· Strong IT skills (experience with Sage 50 desirable but not essential)

· Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

· Able to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively

· Passionate about social impact and supporting people experiencing homelessness
